The Coffin In The Mountain

The film probes the entanglements of love and death in a village in Henan where people presumed and desired dead have annoying tendencies not to be so. The narrative weaves us into an apparently chaotic interplay of coffins, bodies and funerals with loves licit and illicit, gambling and rivalry. Leaving us to guess, nearing the end, who or what is in the box and what it will mean for the villagers we have come to know so closely.
